Ingredients for cooking Chinese

 


If you want to cook Chinese at home, make sure you've got the essentials in your cupboards and fridge. A few basic ingredients are all that's needed!

In your cupboard
- soy sauce
- sesame oil
- oyster sauce
- rice
- wheat, rice or soya noodles

Spices
- five-spice powder
- star anise
- powdered coriander
- fresh ginger
- sesame seeds


Vegetables
- garlic
- onions or shallots
- black mushrooms (dried)
- flavored mushrooms (dried)
- bamboo shoots (tinned)
- seasonal veg: carrots, peppers, Chinese cabbage
- herbs: chive and coriander (fresh or frozen)
