If you want to get yourself tested for any sexual transmitted infections there is a number of options available...

•    NHS Screening /Local GP: People registered with a GP can make an appointment and ask to be tested for Chlamydia. If you're diagnosed with the infection your usual prescription charges will apply for the treatment.

Find out more at the NHS Live Well website.

•    Genito-Urinary Medicine Clinics (GUM): GUM clinics offer both HIV and STI testing along with advice and support as well as information about all aspects of sexual health.  GUM clinic services are free, confidential and can be anonymous if required.

Many places offer a ‘drop in’ service where appointments are unnecessary - queues can be lengthy so arrive early. You may also be able to make an appointment if this suits you better.

Find your nearest clinic by visiting:

•    Online Testing: This is the fastest growing method with being the market leader. Test include Chlamydia, Gonorrhea, Herpes, Mycoplasma Genitalium, Ureaplasma Urealyticum/Parvum, Trichomonas Vaginalis, and Gardnerella/Bacterial Vaginosis.

Tests and treatment are available online / by post and are quick – it can take as little as a few days to register, get tested and treated - but there is a small charge levied for the service.
