The build-up to Christmas

Make a plan and delegate

Suzy Greaves, author of The Big Peace (Hay House) says :

‘Christmas sends many of us in to people-pleasing and perfection overdrive, with an orgy of shopping, cooking, and cleaning that has you weeping in to the turkey with pure exhaustion!

Make this Christmas the time to do things differently, so that you are not doing things at the expense of your health and sanity.

Make new decisions on how you do things this festive season, and have a truly happy Christmas.’

Make a list of all the things you need to do in advance and carefully plan when you're going to get each one checked off the list.

Being prepared and knowing what's still to do can make the whole Christmas "to do" list seem less daunting.

Greaves says: ‘create a Christmas project that gets you adored by everyone, but has you doing 10% of the work, get everyone involved, the main focus is to have fun, share the workload, and brainstorm ideas until everyone is excited.

It’s important that everyone has a role to do, from Christmas cake baker, present wrapper etc. Make this a joint responsibility, so that it’s not you that has to chase-up everyone.

Create new radical ways of doing things, from everyone cooking a different course for the Christmas dinner, to deciding a budget on gifts, or offer a prize for the most creative gift on a budget!’
