Put ‘the dress’ to the test
Try before you buy
It’s so easy to fall head over heels in love with a frock as you swish and sashay about a frilly boutique. Add to that all the ‘oohs’ and ‘ahhs’ from your bridesmaids and mum, and the big thumbs up from the sales assistant and you’ll no doubt
be ready to slap the money on the counter there and then.
But take a deep breath and think about comfort for a second. Is it too tight? Can you sit down in it?
Even go one step further and practice the first dance with one of your bridesmaids. The likelihood is you will be in the frock for up to 12 hours, so no matter how glorious it looks, no matter how princess-like you feel, take at least 20 minutes to try before you buy.
Essentially, you don’t want to be thinking, ‘can’t breathe’ when you should be saying ‘I do’.
