Safe in the Sun

Avoid the sun during the hottest part of the day, between midday and four o’clock in the afternoon.

Re-apply sun cream every two hours and every time you go in the sea.

Gently dry off after swimming, as water droplets magnify the effect of UV rays.

Wear a wide-brimmed hat and sunglasses with a UV filter to protect your eyes.

Be careful about rays which can bounce off the sand and the water, you can still get burnt this way under a parasol or hat.

Pay particular attention to sun protection at higher altitudes. At 1500 meters above sea level, 20% more UVB rays reach the earth.
