Faking orgasms: Questions to ask yourself

 - Faking orgasms: Questions to ask yourself
When should you be worried?

There should be a line drawn between "harmless" and "problematic" faking.

Your own wellbeing is the best measure: as long as you're not faking orgasms all the time and it isn't preventing either you or your partner from being truly satisfied, there's no need to worry.

"However,"
explains Héril, "some women resort to faking orgasms automatically, which always leads to suffering in the form of sexual frustration and to a feeling of betrayal towards their partner.

As soon as there's suffering, there's dysfunction! People shouldn't lose sight of the fact that sex is supposed to be fun and provide a couple with increased intimacy."

What does it hide?

When faking orgasms equals frustration, the first thing to do is ask yourself what pushed you to adopt this "strategy". According to our expert, systematically faking orgasms chiefly occurs in two situations:

"There are those women who have already experienced orgasms, either alone or with previous partners, but are unable to reach orgasm with their current partner. Then there are those who have never had the experience - these women could be affected by anorgasmia, a sexual dysfunction which prevents the sufferer from achieving orgasm even with the necessary stimulation."

In the first situation, there is the desire to keep the relationship going, and in the second, there is a fear of appearing abnormal or frigid.

In both cases, faking it seems to be the only solution to save the relationship: "In reality, resorting to faking orgasms is a way of easing a deeper anxiety: the fear of being abandoned. These women are under the impression that if they confess to never having orgasms, they will be rejected by their partner."
