Why is yoga good for mums to be?
So what is it about yoga that is so great for pregnant women then? Well trust us, it’s a lot more than just allowing you to exercise while sitting about on a mat.
Tara says the benefits of practicing yoga while you’re pregnant are multiple, not just to prepare your body physically and mentally for birth but to also help with aches and pains, stress and sleep deprivation.
“It helps to strengthen muscles to keep aches and pains at bay as the baby gets bigger and heavier and the center of gravity shifts. It brings energy and helps with insomnia which can really affect pregnant women.
It provides useful tools for labor including breathing, visualizations and movement,” she says.
As well as all this Tara suggests that practicing yoga can help you connect with your baby too.
