Dr. Robotham says that mindfulness has proved useful in dealing with every day stress and anxiety, and recommends that everyone gives it a try.

But it might be useful for people who are suffering from specific mental health conditions too.

"It has also been shown to help manage more serious mental health problems such as depression, bipolar and addictive behaviors," he says. "And it can have a positive effect on certain physical problems by improving immune system functioning and pain management."

In addition, Dr. Robotham explains that mindfulness can help to boost you immune system, which can be damaged by stress hormones - is there anything it can't help with?!

Of course, if you aren't getting the desired effects from mindfulness, especially if you have specific mental health problems, you should ask a medical professional for further advice or suggestions of alternative therapies.
