Disney fans, rejoice! The hit movie "Tangled" is coming straight to your TV screen as an animated series. Yes, you are reading that correctly. The fairy tale favorite featuring Princess Rapunzel will be back when the series premieres in 2017. I know that's not for two years, but if Rapunzel was able to stay locked away in a tower for God knows how long, then you can wait for her return.

Plus, once the show does air, you'll get to see all your favorites from the Disney original movie like Mandy Moore (Rapunzel) and Zachary Levi (Flynn Rider), along with their sidekicks Pascal and Maximus. And to make things even better, Disney's celebrated Alan Menken will return as a composer while Glenn Slater will make an appearance as the project's lyricist.

So basically, if you fell in love with songs like "I See the Light" and "When Will My Life Begin?" like I did (because how could you not?), you can look forward to some fantastic musical work thanks to this dynamic duo. Holla at that!

According to a press release from Disney, the upcoming TV series will take place after the events of the movie when Rapunzel returns to her kingdom. However, the show will also occur before "Tangled Ever After," the short film which premiered in 2012. Chris Sonnenburg ("Enchanted") and Shane Prigmore ("The Lego Movie") are behind the series' development and will act as executive producers.

“The genius of the original movie was its seamless blending of cinematic adventure, character-driven comedy and touching emotion. And we are fortunate to have several of the creative talent from that movie on board with this new production,” Gary Marsh, president and CCO of Disney Channels Worldwide said in a statement. “With the addition of Chris and Shane as executive producers, we have the perfect team in place to create a series worthy of the original film.”
