Have You Met Ted?
Sometimes, your friends aren't as socially savvy as you are; so, do like Barney, and give your bro a helping hand in the dating department! True, Barney can be a bit reckless and crass, but he is always there to help his friend out with the ladies.
The Slap Bet
Word to the wise: never make a slap bet with a seriously tall man from Minnesota (hey, Marshall!). In other words, be careful what you say, because when the time comes, you'll have to put your money where your mouth is.
The Crazy Scale
While we certainly don't believe in judging someone solely based on their looks, there is one thing we've learned from Barney's "Crazy Scale": if you think someone's truly more than a little off in the head, it's better to run for the hills.
While you should always be careful making bets, you also need to put yourself out there! Don't be afraid to take a few risks and accept a few challenges. Even if you can't succeed at everything, it's always better to try.
Stop Being Sad and Be Awesome!
Your life is only as awesome as you make it. Instead of sitting around moping, choose to be as awesome as possible!
The Three Day Rule
Perhaps the Biblical reference was taking dating advice a bit too far? But seriously, don't call someone immediately after having a date. You may give the wrong impression and come off as clingy.
Make Every Day Legendary
If things are getting a little boring in life, take a tip from Barney and make your own adventures. Build your own memories, and make everything you do LEGEN-waitforit-DARY!
Dress to impress! Unless you are hiking or getting down and dirty outdoors, never be afraid of over-dressing. Life and dating always look brighter when you're cleaned up and put together!
Highest of Fives
There is nothing wrong with taking time to celebrate your wins. Even the smallest achievements deserve some acknowledgment, and when you celebrate life's little successes, you'll have a happier outlook.
There are times in a relationship when you do have to give up something, but if your partner is asking you to give up something you love (like suits) for no serious reason, it may be time to take a stand. Even when you're in a relationship, never stop being yourself.
While there are certainly tips you can follow to up your dating game, Barney's Playbook is on a whole other level (that no one but him can pull off!). The one thing we definitely learned from his Playbook is when he gave it up for Robin. When that one special person comes along, even a major player knows it's time to give up the games.
