Think about Paris, and your mind may wander to the Eiffel Tower, The Champs-Elysée, The Mona Lisa, croissants and café culture.
It is also one of our favorite destinations for fashion shopping. All you have to do is hop on the Eurostar, book a flight, put your car on the ferry or drive onto the train and head for the European capital of couture and you can find out why Paris and style go together like Nicholas and Carla.
You will find all the iconic French brands such as Chanel , Christian Dior, Hermes, Jean-Paul Gaultier, Louis Vuitton, and Yves Saint Laurent, but many lesser known French fashion designers add to the rich fashion tapestry.
Nearly all French fashion top brands have their main store on Avenue Montaigne or rue du Faubourg Saint-Honore, both near Champs-Elysees avenue.
The Saint-Germain des Pres district on the left bank has many French fashion clothing stores. Look for them in streets around rue de Sevres with flagship Le Bon Marche luxury department store.
However, head away from the high street and designer stores and you can discover a whole new way of shopping.
But it is possible to copy a catwalk trend in Paris, with only 200 euros to spend?
Armed with the suitably fashionable but frugal new Ka, journalist Monisha Rajesh unearths a new side to Paris, including Le Sentier - where the industry insiders come to find the latest looks - and vintage favorite, Rue des Rosiers, a lesser-known street in Le Marais.
