Africology Bespoke Facial at Blowww Spa

We put the latest all natural facial to the test to see if Mother Nature's finest ingredients could really make a difference to our skin...

 - Africology facial at Blowww

The Africology range is inspired by African traditional wisdom and rituals that help to establish harmony between body and mind and the Africology spa treatments have now launched in London's prestigious Blowww Spa.

With their 100% natural credentials, the Africology products are formulated to rejuvenate skin, helping to prevent damage and premature aging. Plus they're gentle enough for even sensitive skintypes, so if you want a facial without having to hide for two days after, then the Africology Bespoke Facial could be the one for you.

While many facials take a more machine orientated approach to resolving skin issues, from steamers to high frequency toners and light therapy, the Africology Bespoke facial is a much more hands on experience.

The Africology Bespoke facial
Africology facial review:

The Spa at Blowww is set back from the bustle and business of Regent Street, hidden away in the heart of Soho. The Spa area, like so many great secret London Spas is located on the ground floor.

Once you enter Bloww you take the central staircase down into the cozy depths of the spa space, where pampering and wellbeing take precedence. Decorated in woody shades and earthy walls, the spa feels at once urbane and homely, with the usual sprinkling of Buddha’s and zen-like paraphernalia.  It's somewhat non-descript in its decor, but it's utterly bespoke where it counts - the facial.

My therapist, Virginie talked to me about my skincare concerns (outbreaks and blemishes at this time of year) and asked about my current skincare regime.

Once targets for the facial were determined, I lay back on the treatment bed and let her magic hands get to work, using the gloriously fragranced Africology range to full effect.

My face was double cleansed, toned, moisturized and massaged. My décolletage, shoulders and neck were all given special care and attention, as I explained my outbreaks were quite indiscriminate about where they made base.

Using lymphatic drainage techniques, my face was massaged with potent serums and bespoke combinations of the Africology range, mixed by my therapist, to leave it looking plumped up, radiant and lovely.

The treatment also used the therapeutic properties of aromatherapy, starting each phase of the treatment with scented essential oils which I inhaled in a cloud of rosey bliss.

Virginie applied a deep cleansing clay mask to my face to draw out impurities then massaged my feet for an indulgent fifteen minutes before removing the mask, then repeating the cleaning, toning, serum and moisturizer massage steps.

I left with skin that looked positively glowing, and the post facial break-out I'd been dreading never materialized. To revitalize winter-weary skin, this facial is perfect. With plenty of relaxing massage incorporated into the 80 minute slot, you'll leave feeling exhilarated and recharged.
