It seems men aren't immune to the heartache that comes from parting ways with a former lover. Case in point: Floyd Mayweather. He's widely revered as one of the best professional boxers of all time, yet, despite his incredible success, he wasn't above going on social media to bash his ex, Shantel Jackson.
Last week, Mayweather confirmed the pair had parted ways, saying, "She's focusing on her career in L.A., which is acting, and I'm focusing on my career, which is boxing. Sometimes people can outgrow one another, but we're still friends." That seems like a pretty amicable split, right? Except that things have gotten pretty nasty.
It appears Mayweather is now feeling the sting after spotting Jackson enjoying a night out with rapper Nelly at a Miami Heats game. He was so hurt, he went on Facebook and Instagram to share the "real" reason he and Jackson broke up.
"The real reason me and Shantel Christine Jackson @missjackson broke up was because she got a abortion, and I'm totally against killing babies. She killed our twin babies. #ShantelJackson#FloydMayweather#TheMoneyTeam#TMT," he revealed. Yes, obnoxious hashtags and all.
That statement was accompanied with the below image, an alleged document from the aforementioned abortion.
Jackson has remained mostly silent, merely posting a singular image on her own Instagram account along with the caption, "Look up MO say cheese... Lol You encourage me to smile and laugh through all my BS. Thank You. #Realfriend P.S You are truly a comedian. LMAO... !!!"
Here's hoping things don't go any further.
Truthfully speaking, we're having a difficult time empathizing with Mayweather; a man who thought it was appropriate to share such deeply personal information with the world. Yes, we get it. He's hurt and perhaps embarrassed that his ex was able to move on so quickly AND with another celeb. Or maybe this tactless act has something to do with his upcoming fight? Whatever the reasoning is behind this move, it's one we wholeheartedly denounce. It's sad on so many levels.
