What messages do you have for us Canadians? "Water companies don't recycle all of their bottles. We're against the sale of water. It's a common right. In our house you won't find any bottles of water. And we don't sell any at the Cirque du Soleil anymore. There are water stations but no more plastic bottles for sale. We give water for free.

I'd like to say to Canadians to be more conscious of the relationship we have with water, through simple, daily steps. Turning off the tap when cleaning teeth, not buying any more plastic bottles. They're just some of the little things we can do that are good for the environment and that can help make savings. And during World Water Day, we launched the "Water on our plate" initiative, another message that aims to reduce our consumption of meat and reduce food waste, a simple action that allows us to save a lot of water."

Claudia will soon be leaving for Salvador in order to demonstrate the benefits and results of One Drop's actions. "One Drop has always focused on transparency, with regards to everything and to donors. We therefore want to show them where the money is invested. I want to go to affected areas to see with my own eyes, to learn and be touched by people. I want to understand how this change has radically improved their lives and how we can reduce the other risks of illnesses, and especially how we can reduce poverty. That's it."

What is One Drop?
The NGO One Drop aims to ensure better access to drinkable water for the most disadvantaged populations of the world. It was launched in 2007 by Guy Laliberté, the founder of the Cirque du Soleil, who has committed to contribute 100 million dollars over 25 years.

Since its launch, One Drop has carried out awareness campaigns (including the Aqua exhibition), along with water access programs in Nicaragua and Honduras. Each project supported by One Drop lasts for 6 years and has an average budget of $5 million.

These projects follow a formula that comprises three parts which the NGO calls the "tripod approach". The three elements of the formula are the technical component, the microfinance component and the social arts and education component.
