As women, sometimes running alone on dark winter mornings can seem like a bad idea, but you don't have to be a victim.

To avoid looking vulnerable try to run with a buddy, or tell someone when and where you are running.

Vary your routes whilst staying within well lit areas and avoid deserted places. Always make sure someone you trust knows you regular running routes.

Taking a mobile phone and some money is always a good idea too, in case you need to be picked up or take a bus home.
