As well as strengthening certain muscles by contracting them, you mustn't forget to stretch them as well.

Sit on the floor with your legs straight out in front of you, lower yourself down gently and grab your toes. Pull them towards you, keeping your knees flat on the floor and hold the position for 6 seconds.

Be careful not to let go too suddenly or to sit up straight too quickly.

> Do 10 reps.
Sit down, keep your back nice and straight, bend your legs and place the soles of your feet against each other, close to your pelvis, in a "lotus" position.

Using your elbows, carefully move your knees towards the floor. Hold for 6 seconds, breathing slowly.
> Do 10 reps.
