Snowboarding
Very popular now, snowboarding is a sport that involves sliding down snow-covered slopes. It requires balance and physical resistance.

Both feet are on the same board (which resembles a short, broad ski) and you slide down the slopes using your upper body and pressure on from your hips and thighs to change direction.

Muscles used:
Snowboarding requires suppleness and agility. Joints are called upon a lot, as are muscles in the lower parts of the body, particularly the thighs and abdominals.

Precautions to take:
> As snowboarding requires good balance, it often leads to repeated falls. Wrists, bums and knees should therefore be protected carefully because they're the body parts that break the falls!

> Helmets are strongly recommended.

> Just like skiing, snowboarding is not recommended for pregnant women because of the risk of falling.
