Festive food doesn't have to be the enemy. The problem is that there is just so much of it; yule log, sweeties, candy canes, mince pies, Christmas pud - our self control reserves don't stand a chance.
Doctor Luigi Gratton, Vice President of Medical Affairs at Herbalife says the key to surviving the Christmas period without piling on the pounds is portion control. He says it's all about "moderation and balance."

He shared his top tip with us on how to enjoy party season eating treats without going overboard;

"Try to keep your portions small at a party. Choose the smallest plate possible. Pile greens and other tasty vegetables onto your plate first, leaving just a little room for those high-calorie treats like sweets and cheeses."
"Eat smaller, low-calorie meals during the day so you can enjoy a special treat later – just make sure you do not starve yourself for the party and end up overeating."
