Can colour fade over time?

It shouldn’t, unless you’re using a semi-permanent color which washes out over time. The active ingredients and color pigments are carefully mixed in permanent dyes, but be careful, as spending hours in the swimming pool will dull your freshly-colored blonde locks and could give them a green hue.  If you swim regularly, semi-permanent color may be best for you, as the chemicals in the water can dry hair and distort color.
