Question 1 - ditching the bleach

Question 1:

Dear Andrew,

I have seen your wonderful make-overs on ‘10 Years Younger’ and your advice has hit home that ladies of a certain age can look like ‘mutton’ with bleached blonde hair. Unfortunately I have reached that age and feel ‘now’s the time’.
I enjoy being blonde but I think the color is starting to make me look tired. My hair also hates any kind of damp weather: drizzle, rain or just humidity so 90% of the time it is just frizzy anyway and I have been told by various hairdressers that this is because of the over-use of bleach.

Is there any way I can make my hair look vibrant and warm without bleaching but without going too dark? And do you think that my hair would be less frizzy if it wasn’t bleached?

My answer:

Hi Sharon,
Leaving the bleach behind may be a big step but rest assured the quality of your hair will improve and your blonde actually become a softer prettier color.

Bleach as we age can be aging specially next to the skin. Instead start using a high lift tint which will put colored blonde tones into your hair, maybe go for a sandy shade so it won't be too much of a shock but whatever you do, do it at the salon where you’ll get the best advice and expertise.

As the quality of your hair improves the frizz will reduce in the meantime feed your hair with lots of nourishing moisture. Use my Andrew Barton S
OS range of shampoo, conditioner and deep treatment mask your hair will love it.
