Innovative design from the kids
So it’s day five, you’ve become immune to the lattes and espressos, which have now replaced your blood and you’re yearning for a shot of talent to prod you out of your stupor.
Enter The Swedish School of Textiles who demonstrated that London fashion schools aren’t the main talent feed for the industry.
Every BA student showed deft craftsmanship and unique design but it was the opening three students who really confounded expectations: Sara Andersson with dusty taupe mid-length skirts and Cubist sculptural detail, Johanna Milvert with asymmetric knitwear and Elin Klevmar who created the perfect collection of lounge separates in ethereal tones and silken fabrics.
It was frustrating to see a comparatively empty audience. At times like this you’d like to pull people in from the street just to see how exciting design can be.
