London Fashion Week s/s 2011
And all of a sudden it’s here: the penultimate day of London Fashion Week.
Heels have been mostly traded in for ballet pumps and brogues, the sun has come back with a vengeance taking the new season coats with it, and most of us are doing the ‘fashion flail’, otherwise known as gliding around like a zombie and seeking out a comfy seat wherever it may be.
With that in mind you start to see the fashion crowd dropping off like flies. We spotted empty seats at Jaeger; usually one of the most claustrophobic shows of the week, but handicapped by its 9am start time on today of all days.
It’s a limp over the finish line rather than sprint. A sleek, minimalist collection of muted, earthy tones, Jaeger was a beautiful but rather subdued effort. At the crack of dawn on a Tuesday you’d do better to shock with naked models and Kerry Katona in your front row (just some of the most talked about moments of the last week).
