Day three is when you may become fashion weak (see what we did there?)
As you reach the midway point it’s time to reach for the Berocca, or perhaps something stronger, equip yourself against the rain (part and parcel of London Fashion Week, the heavens never fail to open) and look to the designers to cheer you up, preferably with some color and print, which is what we got today, hooray!
Betty Jackson managed to fill the BFC tents to the brim at 9am on a rainy Sunday morning, an impressive feat in itself, not to mention her beautiful collection of oversize military overcoats, dusky pink harem trousers, demure headscarves and an abstract version of last season’s anemone print.
A shot of neon orange punctuated an otherwise earthy palette of ocher and slate blue. Some fluid dresses could see you all the way through to spring/summer 2011, and yes we did just plan that far in advance. Always be prepared. But if you want to live in the moment then you can’t go wrong with a voluminous corduroy overcoat complete with pockets of Mary Poppins proportions. Wear with a pair of skinnies and you’re ready to go.
