London Fashion Week SS10: Day Two

Gemma Slack’s offering was somewhat more wearable, for those not taking part in a re-make of The Wolf Man, although her thigh-skimming slashed leather doesn’t leave much to the imagination.

Fierce and futuristic, her armor-like silver plating was fused with soft leather and sent along the catwalk to the sounds of Motley Crüe: truly heavy metal.

Central Saint Martins graduate Lina Österman showed a collection of androgynous tailoring with a gothic sensibility.

Vicious looking studs punctuated her skinny black trousers and shredded knits lay over gossamer chiffon.

Finally, Iris Van Herpen managed to almost eclipse her Blow Presents…contemporaries.

Her truly beautiful collection of intricate pieces included looked part tribal, part alien with leather manipulated into meandering spirals.

Models stalked down the catwalk, barefoot and on tip-toe stopping to pose in spotlights whilst serpentine head dresses finished off the look.

From conceptual newcomers to firm favorite, John Rocha’s dreamy whimsy has made him the feel-good ticket for London Fashion Week.

You’d have to be a real sourpuss to leave one of his shows without a smile on your face.

This season he was playing with texture with floaty laser-cut chiffon adorning everything from the boy’s trilbies to the girl’s dresses. As always, an impeccable show by Mr Rocha.
