What to Avoid

It’s as important that you know what not to eat as than what to eat!

As some of the causes for IBS stem from a reaction to food it is really essential to have an idea of the foods that can really get under your skin.

Some of the foods that you should probably steer clear of are:

  • Foods containing sugars such as fructose, lactose, raffinose and sorbitol.
  • Processed food such as fast food burgers etc.
  • Refined sugars such as chocolate bars and sweets
Unfortunately as well as these there are just some food types which will make you worse and, of course, they're all the fun ones...

According to a review conducted by David C. Dugdale* and George F. Longstreth** these are the certain foods that are to be avoided at all costs while suffering from IBS.

  • Caffeine, tea, colas
  • Barley, wheat, rye
  • Dairy products (except pro-biotic drinks which can help_
  • Alcohol
Also, avoid having large over-filling meals.

Sad but true.
