What I normally eat...

To give you an idea of what I'm sacrificing to do this detox, here is my usual intake of an average day:

Breakfast:

Skip it.

I rarely eat any breakfast but if I wake up hungry then I sometimes have porriage or Special K with a handful of raisons and sultanas.

Cup of tea

The day has not begun until I have a mug of tea in my hand.

Snack

Tea.

I don't really snack - if I am really really hungry, I'll have a chocolate bar or some fruit but it's really rare. I have tea to stave off the hunger pangs.

Lunch

Pitta bread sandwiches with cheese, tomato and ham + a yogurt + a satsuma and more tea.

I love pitta bread but I eat the white kind and fill it up with grated mature cheddar, cherry tomatoes and yummy parma ham. I normally have a full fat fruit yoghut too. I go for the probiotic kind.

Snack

Tea.

More tea! I get through at least three cups a day. I prefer skimmed milk, no sugar.

Dinner

Homemade beef stew with vegetables, mashed potato, peas, and carrots.
Glass of wine.

I love home cooking but I always over cater and then over eat. I can't stop eating until all the food on my plate is gone. I use olive oil and real butter in my cooking even though I know I should have switched to something healthier. I'm also too eager with the salt. Occassionally I'll have pudding too - apple crumble or ice cream.


Water

I am terrible at getting enough water - I maybe have one or two glasses a day. I usually take a pint with me to bed and wake up during the night gasping with thirst and inexplicably busting for the loo too - I never know which issue I should address first.

Supplements

Vitamin C, Omega Oils 3,6 and 9 and Glucosamine and Chondroitin.

Every morning I take the capsules for my immune system, brain health and joint health. I don't know if they're doing anything but it makes me feel better.
