Oranges And Lemons lyrics:

Oranges and lemons,
Say the bells of St. Clement's

You owe me five farthings,
Say the bells of St. Martin's

When will you pay me?
Say the bells of Old Bailey.

When I grow rich,
Say the bells of Shoreditch.

When will that be?
Say the bells of Stepney

I do not know,
Says the great bell of Bow

Heer comes a candle to light you to bed
And here comes a chopper to chop off your head!

(Chip chop, chip chop, the last man's dead!)

Oranges And Lemons is also sometimes played as a Children's game:

Two players face each other and join hands above their heads to create an arch. The other players also in pairs file through the arch while the song is sung. When the players get to "the last man's dead' they drop their hand capturing the couple between their arms.

The captured couple join the first pair and make an arch of their own - and so the tunnel gets longer and escaping "the chop" becomes harder. The winners are the last couple not forming part of the tunnel.
