Sun damage isn’t something that can be easily reversed, as over time it will cause the elastin fibers in the skin to weaken, bringing on signs of premature aging such as wrinkles and sagging.

It’s vital you protect your skin with a high SPF all year round, but on holiday it’s even more important to shield your skin from those damaging UV rays - opting for a minimum SPF 30 and wearing a hat whenever possible.

To treat sun damaged skin, reach for products containing antioxidant Vitamins C and E, as these will neutralize the free radicals caused by sun exposure and other environmental factors, and speed up the healing process once the damage is done.

Retinol is another wonder ingredient to look out for; it encourages new skin cell renewal, decreasing the appearance of uneven skin tone and fine lines.
