Valentine's Day ideas for a long-term relationship
Taylor says: Go over the top! Celebrate your lasting love with a present that will also last, and grow.
For example, plant a tree in the garden and have a little plaque made for it, with your names and a mushy message. Or buy a love seat, and have it carved with something meaningful. (Resist the urge to carve it yourself with a compass.)
A digital photo frame is a wonderfully gushy gift, if you load it with photographs from your life together. Most of them also play music, so you can upload “your song” onto it to play during the slideshow.
wewomen says: You can get already established trees from most garden centers - ask for something as old as your relationship for that extra personal touch. Try www.wyevale.co.uk (BBC Gardener's World Garden Center of the year - 2009) or for really established plants, have a look at The Big Plant Nursey in Berkshire - www.thebigplantnursery.com.
As a really special treat for your hardworking husband, fiance or partner, hire a gardener for a year so you can spend more time together and less time doing chores.
