How to break up with someone you love: Do's and don'ts
Break up don't: Don't do a runner
The surprise goodbye break up is pretty harsh. It's the equivalent of an emotional hit and run whereby you remove your stuff from your boyfriend's house and simply up sticks.
Susie, 29, was broken up with in similar style. She says: "James and I weren't getting along that well but it was devastating to return home from work with all of his stuff gone."
We can see the temptation in just disappearing but it's not the best way to go. Being in a relationship is a team effort and breaking up takes two people to do it properly.
Break up do: Prepare your exit
There's nothing wrong with a little forward planning. If you're going to be suddenly seeing a whole lot less of each other it's worth making sure you can do so with out losing out on some of your favorite posessions - that lingerie set or spare hairdryer could come in handy.
By all means gather some of your can't live without essentials pre-break-up but when it comes to doing the deed, vanishing like Houdini is not a fun magic trick to play on your man.
