Commissions, collaborations and corporate ideals

Picking up on Ong's solo success, Pringle of Scotland commissioned an exclusive collection for their first Milan spring/summer show in 2005.

More commissions followed with Beatrix creating a one-off design entitled ‘With a Spring in Her Step’ for the Financial Times - the boot was displayed in their London offices.

To celebrate the release of the Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy, Beatrix Ong was specially invited to create an illustration and shoe inspired by the movie for a special exhibition supported by Buena Vista International.

In 2006, Beatrix Ong participated in a Fair-Trade project which saw her designs being hand-made in Africa and Nepal. The resulting footwear was sold in collaboration with retail outlets including London’s Topshop.

In September of the same year, Beatrix and acclaimed British artist, Natasha Law, (sister to Jude Law) collaborated on an exclusive illustration which would adorn the new Beatrix Ong shoe boxes.
